Red Stag Hunt In Romania

Your Hunting Area

In Romania, for Red Stag’s hunting trip, you will have the choice of two different hunting grounds. Hunting in Mountain, with its intense and beautiful stalking, really good and big triphies but with less density, or in the plains, west of the country, below the Carpaths, with an easier environment, lots if game, whether many red stags and wild boars.

We have decided to offer you a dense territory south of the city of Oradea, along the Hungarian border. WIth more than 13,000 ha of forest, woodlands, marshes and cereal plains.

You will be able to see a lot of red stags and red deer and it is usual for our hunters to shoot more than one mature red stag during they trips. The hunt is a mix between stalking and high standing, following your wishes.

Your Trip

For Stags, we advise a 3 days trip. You can stay more if you want, even if in a 3 days hunting, you will definitely have the opportunity of shooting one or multiple Stags!

The results will also depend on the weather.

Typical day: Quick breakfast at 5am – Your guide will pick up you at your accommodation – Non-stop hunting until 10am (depending on the weather and the heat) – Back to the accommodation for a second and big breakfast. Rest or visits – Afternoon/Evening hunt between 4pm and nightfall – Dinner.

Hunted game & Trophies

During red stag’s calling (15th september – 10th october) priority is done to Red Stags. You will see red stags and red deer every day and will have the possibility to decide on the one you prefer to shoot. We have a strong conviction that only allowing shots on mature animals is the key to an ethical hunt!

Trophies are mostly classic. Most of the time, nice trophies, dark, pearled… However weight is a bit light in this region! Is it usual that a trophy weighting around 6kg might look like a 7.5 or 8kg one!

During Deer belling, you will also be able to shoot Wild Boars. Do not hesitate!

Observers

Observers will be able to go hunting with hunters but also will be able to visit downtown Oradea and profit from thermal pools and waters

Your Accommodation

You will have the choice between two types for this trip.

One good and simple hotel, just near the hunting area. Bedrooms with bathrooms. Really good and nice food !

Country Information

Located in the South-Eastern part of Europe, Romania has borders with Hungary, Ukraine, Moldavia, Bulgaria and Serbia.

Weather is continental. In Bucarest, minimal temperature in January is around -5 Celsius, but maximum temperature can be around 35 Celsius in July.

The country is within the European Union but its money is still the Romanian Lei. You can use your debit/credit card or change currency in banks or change offices.

Firearms and Equipment

Rifle’s importation is easy in Romania.

We will take care of all administration processes. We will only need copies of your passport or ID, hunting license, insurance and firearm registration license (if you take your firearm with you, which we do recommend).

At the border (non-Schengen area), you will have to carry a valid passport as well as present the invitation letter (which we will give you) to import your rifle (60 rounds max).

Climate is continental. During September, temperates are between 15-20°C.

To get on location

By car, approximately 1600 kms from Western Europe. Only highways except for the last few kilometers.

By plane, you will have the choice between two airports: Budapest in Hungary (mostly without any transfer if from Europe) or Timisoara in Romania (transfer mandatory). We will be waiting for you at the airport.

Trophies 1st preparation is included in our price.

For specific demands we can provide you with local taxidermist informations or you can take with you your trophies if you prefer your own taxidermist.
