Your Hunting Location
Hunting Pleasure has selected these hunting grounds for a decade. Our territories as well as our partners remain the same.
We propose, depending on the available dates, multiple territories all located on Lewis Island, in the North-West part of Scotland. You will be hunting on typically Scottish lands and often by the sea-side!
Every mornings, our guides will take you to different parts of their territories in order to have a better and sustainable animal management.
The environment can be composed of hills and no specific physical condition is required.
Price
Starting at £1650 for 3 hunting days – 4 nights on the base of 4 hunters and more.
The price of this trip (flat fee) depends on the number of hunters within your group as well as the number of hunting days (and nights). Minimum 2 hunters 3 hunting days, 4 nights with full-pension, beverages not included.
You will hunt in pairs (not more). One guide for two hunters.
Daily quota is of 5 birds per hunter (grouse and/or snipes) and is included in the flat fee.
In option, goose hunt, firearm rental.
Your trip
A la carte – from 3 to 5 hunting days knowing that hunting (and fishing) is forbidden on Sundays in Scotland.
Day 1: Arrival on the island, by personal car or by plane –Stornoway Airport – Dinner and night at your accommodation.
Hunting Days : British breakfast at your accommodation around 8am. Meeting with your guides. On average, 15 to 30 minutes drive to get on hunting grounds. Start at 9:30am. All day hunting with a lunch break on location.
Back to your accommodation at 4:30pm. Dinner and night.
Last Day : Departure by car or by plane after breakfast
Hunted Game and Trophies
Early-season (end-August to end-October), you will only be hunting grouse with hounds. Quota is fixed on 5 grouses per hunter per day.
Snipe hunt opens on November 1st. Between early-november and December 10th (grouse end-season), you will be able to hunt both birds.
The end of the season is dedicated to Snipe hunting. Until the end of January.
Goose hunt available on demand as well.

Your Accommodation
All accommodation have been selected by Hunting Pleasure and we guarantee their level of quality and comfort. Ranging from 4-stars or 5-stars.
Your accommodation will be proposed depending on various criterias: proximity to your hunting grounds and your specific wishes concerning your accommodation.
We have hotels, guest-houses… typically scottish lodges. Double or single bedrooms without additional fee.
Every meal is of exceptional quality and included in the trip.
Tourism
Lewis Island is amazing. Discover gorgeous beaches, amazing coast, and cliffs throwing themselves into the sea.
The island is still wild with various sceneries across the land.
Downtown Stornoway is highly recommended to visit…

Country Information
Located in the Northern part of Great Britain, there is the one and only Scotland. Full of tradition, character, and amazing lands. Even if English is the main language, do not be surprised to hear Gaelic, reminding us of its Celtic heritage. This nation warmly welcomes tourists as well as hunters.
Even with Brexit and every interrogation it might bring, no specific document or visa is required from within the EU.
Local currency is British Pound (£) as well as our prices.
Firearms and Equipment
To go to Scotland with your own firearm, you will need start procedures 8 weeks in advance in order to optain Scottish Firearm License, allowing you to carry a weapon. We will help you in the procedure. Own Firearm License, Hunting permit and insurance are mandatory.
We have multiple firearms on location. Mostly 12 gauge. Available for rental.
Equipment wise, never forget that you will be hunting in Scotland. Weather is variable and days might be sunny at moments but rainy as well… no one can predict it. However, take various types of clothing, even if every accommodation has a room to dry-up you clothes at night!
Backpack, changing clothes to take every day. Boots are mandatory…
To get on location
By car, go through England and Scotland. Take the ferry at Ullapool to Lewis Island and Stornoway. ONLY 2 daily ferries. Do not forget to book in advance. The meeting place will be your accommodation.
By plane, Stornoway airport. Often with a transfer within Great Britain. At the airport, we recommend you to rent a car to get to your accommodation but also be independent from your guides.
Know that no airline company will accept hounds. If you wish to travel with your hounds, a car trip is mandatory!
Taxidermy
You can have trophies made on location. Ask your guide or our Scottish partner.
You can also leave with your birds to have them made by your own taxidermist but also take game meat!
